EverQuest 2: Alternative free-to-play version announced
The list of free-to-play MMOs is getting longer and longer: not only The Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online will soon go the way of free game play with optional item shops, but also Ever Quest 2.
Sony Online Entertainment announced now Everquest 2: Extended to a free-to-play version of Everquest 2 Platinum, which is run separately in addition to the normal subscription version of the game. However, the version are four levels of membership: The Bronze membership is the game free-to-play, but you have to live with some restrictions, for example, that you are allowed to play only up to level 80th Who Wants to play up to level 90, you have to buy the expansion. In the next game marketplace there will be other things that you can be to buy you. Also you will be restricted in terms of character slots (two) and races (Human, Barbarian, Half-Elf and Erudite).
