Your chance to own a car with film history
You may well be aware that at some point film and television props and costumes are auctioned off, giving people the chance to own a small piece of film history. Collectors of these items sometimes choose to release some of their collection in aid of charity or to free up space in their private exhibitions. The usual types of film props can range from house and set decorations to items of significance from a certain production. Avid collectors of movie memorabilia are soon going to get a chance to own some items that are a little bit larger and maybe a lot more iconic.
A selection of famous cars from many of the most famous productions and films in history are coming up for sale. Through a popular online auction website many of these gems of the big screen are becoming available to be bought. A selection of cars are being sold by their owner Peter Nelson, Peter who is the owner of the ‘Cars of the Stars' Museum in the Lake District has been collecting these vehicles for little over thirty years.
Have you ever wanted to drive KITT from televisions Knight Rider series to your local supermarket? or even wanted to go back in time whilst driving the DeLorean time machine from ‘Back to the Future? Well, now's your chance!
Many of the vehicles in the Cumbrian museum were bought from celebrities and Peter personally negotiated deals with them to purchase the vehicles. Just some of the actors and celebrities that Peter bought cars from are Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, David Hasselhoff and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Three different versions of the Batmobile are being sold including the vehicle from the original series and the more modern versions from Batman Returns and Batman Forever.
Everyone will remember the bright yellow Robin Reliant from the hit television show ‘Only Fools and Horses', the three wheeler with ‘Trotters Independent Traders' emblazoned on its side was bought from someone who purchased it from the BBC to arrive at a party in.
So keep your eyes peeled for many of these wonderful Hollywood cars and vans going on sale soon. They certainly are a piece of film and television history.
